Bellrock has unveiled Symphony, a groundbreaking playbook for mechanical and electrical (M&E) maintenance that promises to redefine facilities management through real-time monitoring, predictive insights and intelligent automation. The platform moves beyond reactive maintenance, using data to anticipate and resolve building issues before they escalate, reducing costs and enhancing operational reliability across estates.
Developed by Bellrock’s Intelligent Asset Care division, Symphony continuously analyses building data to identify inefficiencies and recommend preventative actions. By integrating algorithms that learn from usage patterns, capital investment profiles and energy targets, the system delivers tailored maintenance strategies for each building environment, from hospitals and offices to retail and hospitality spaces.
Mark Tyson, Managing Director of the division, described the traditional approach to maintenance as “broken”, with disconnected systems that fail to spot emerging problems. “Symphony tackles the problem head-on by continually monitoring a building’s status and delivering curated trends, alerts and expert analysis directly to engineers and facilities managers,” he explained.
Since its initial development in 2019, Symphony has been refined through partnerships with clients such as Legal and General Asset Management. It has already demonstrated measurable savings by enabling remote triage of issues, increasing uptime and reducing maintenance costs.
Bellrock CEO Carlo Alloni said the innovation will disrupt a fragmented industry reliant on outdated, manual systems. He noted that preventable inefficiencies, such as minor leaks or equipment failures, collectively cost organisations thousands daily. Symphony’s predictive capabilities, he said, are designed to eliminate that waste and optimise asset performance.
Complementing the technology, the Symphony Academy delivers ongoing training in data-led maintenance practices. The initiative was recently recognised at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards for its collaborative role in advancing digital skills across the sector.
