Stepping back to the Facilities Management Awards UK 2026, held last 25th September at the Park Plaza London Riverbank, Henderson Group Property's recognition as FM Project of the Year was a compelling example of what strong planning, close collaboration, and disciplined operational execution can deliver in a live commercial environment.
Project 10k centred on the redevelopment of EUROSPAR Greencastle Street, a £3.7m retail and forecourt transformation that more than doubled the store footprint to over 10,000 square feet. The project was delivered on time and 8% under budget, a result that speaks to the rigour of the programme management and the quality of the working relationships across the project team. Beyond the headline figures, the redevelopment created 27 new jobs, introduced over 3,000 new product lines, and delivered an 85% uplift in customer satisfaction, outcomes that demonstrate the tangible commercial and community value a well-executed FM project can generate.
What made the submission particularly impressive to the judging panel was the complexity of the operational context in which it was delivered. Maintaining a live trading environment throughout the redevelopment required careful sequencing, constant communication, and a level of operational discipline that few projects demand. The judges recognised Henderson Group Property's ability to meet commercial, customer, and operational goals simultaneously, describing Project 10k as a strong example for future retail transformation and commending the team's ability to deliver a complex project without compromising the day-to-day business it was built around.
Stay tuned for the Facilities Management Awards UK 2027 cycle, where organisations from across the United Kingdom will once again have the opportunity to submit their most impactful facilities management work for independent recognition.
