Yesway, a US-based convenience store operator with 447 locations across nine states, has named Robbie Drake as vice president of facilities in a move that directly affects large-scale facilities management operations.
The appointment places him in charge of maintenance, repair and asset performance across the company’s broad retail footprint, reinforcing the role of structured oversight in multi-site environments.
The new executive will oversee a distributed facilities workforce while reporting to the chief real estate officer. His remit includes strengthening accountability mechanisms, tightening cost control and improving the efficiency of both internal and vendor-driven maintenance activities. The approach reflects a continued push within the facilities management sector to stabilise operational expenditure while raising service quality.
Drake brings more than 20 years of experience in facilities management, HVAC oversight and retail maintenance operations. His most recent role at Murphy USA, where he directed maintenance for more than 1,700 fuel stations and convenience stores, involved managing budgets worth several million US dollars. That background included improvements in equipment reliability, preventive maintenance routines and cost discipline, supported by structured training and performance tracking.
His earlier career included senior roles with The Pantry, SureTemp Mechanical and Trane Commercial Systems. Across these companies, he built standardised maintenance programmes, strengthened vendor partnerships and advanced technician development. The breadth of his experience aligns with Yesway’s intention to progress the efficiency, safety and reliability of its network.
Yesway stated that Drake’s appointment supports the company’s operational plans as it scales. With a focus on preventive maintenance, streamlined activity planning and store-level reliability, the new leadership role reinforces the operational expectations placed on facilities management teams across the retail sector.
