VINCI Facilities' Education and Communities Business Unit has retained a total facilities management contract managed by LocatED on behalf of the UK Department for Education, in a deal worth up to £19 million (€22.2m) per annum over a maximum option period of six years.

Facilitate Magazine reported that the retention reinforces VINCI Facilities' position as a long-term delivery partner in the UK education FM sector.

LocatED is an arm's length body of the Department for Education that delivers expert property advice to the education sector and government, helping create an education estate that provides schools and colleges across England.

VINCI Facilities provides FM services to over 200 educational establishments, including PFI and non-PFI schools, academies, colleges, and universities, with a focus on sustainable, non-disruptive service delivery that prioritises student safeguarding and learning environment integrity.

Robert Waugh, associate director of asset management at LocatED, said VINCI Facilities has demonstrated a sound understanding of the scale and complexity of the estate over the past six years, working collaboratively with LocatED's team and stakeholders throughout the partnership.

A job listing for a contracts manager for the Department for Education TFM contract describes it as a significant NEC4 contract valued at approximately £120 million (€140.4m) over four years, supporting complex service delivery within a critical public sector environment.

The retention follows VINCI Facilities' track record of securing and extending public sector FM contracts across the UK, including agreements with Transport for Wales, Transport for London, and the Ministry of Defence Built Estate in London and the South East.
