UFC Gym Ireland is broadening the role of its fitness facilities with a dedicated Recovery Studio, demonstrating how health clubs can create a more complete member experience through specialist equipment, flexible space planning and accessible wellness services.
Featured in Health Club Management, the initiative brings recovery technologies from WellnessSpace Brands into the gym’s premium offering. The studio complements existing strength and conditioning, boxing, martial arts and group training areas, extending the facility’s role beyond exercise alone.
For facilities management teams, the development highlights an opportunity to make existing premises work harder. Dedicated recovery zones can introduce additional services without requiring operators to build an entirely separate facility. However, successful integration depends on selecting suitable equipment, planning the layout carefully and ensuring that cleaning, maintenance, access and member guidance are built into daily operations.
The Recovery Studio features PolarWave Dry Plunge, RedZone Sauna and HydroMassage, alongside compression boots and massage guns. According to WellnessSpace Brands, PolarWave provides a dry cold-exposure experience without plumbing or drainage, while RedZone combines infrared heat with red light. HydroMassage delivers a personalised heated-water massage experience. These technologies give operators different ways to develop recovery services within a dedicated wellness space.
Accessibility was a key consideration for UFC Gym Ireland. The equipment was selected to support intuitive, self-guided use without requiring bookings or continuous supervision, allowing members to incorporate recovery into their existing routines. For operators, this approach highlights the importance of balancing a premium experience with practical day-to-day delivery, including clear instructions, appropriate cleaning procedures and consistent equipment upkeep.
The commercial opportunity is also reflected in UFC Gym Ireland’s membership offering, which includes packages with recovery visits or unlimited recovery sessions. Integrating specialist services into membership options can help clubs differentiate their proposition and offer members more choice. The financial impact will depend on utilisation, operating costs and member demand, rather than equipment investment alone.
For the sector, the lesson is direct: well-planned wellness facilities can create new value from existing space while giving members more reasons to engage with a club. By combining accessible technology with sound facilities management, operators can develop more versatile environments that support changing customer expectations and strengthen the overall membership experience.
