Royal Dublin Society has appointed Levy Ireland to manage food and beverage operations across its Dublin campus under a new partnership agreement. For facilities management stakeholders, the contract reflects increasing demand for integrated hospitality and workplace services designed to improve visitor experience, operational coordination and venue performance across multi-use estates.

Facilitate Magazine reported that the agreement covers hospitality services across the RDS’s 43-acre site in Ballsbridge, including sport, conferences, exhibitions, concerts and major public events such as the Dublin Horse Show. The contract also includes hospitality management for the redeveloped Laya Arena, which is being upgraded to accommodate more than 20,000 attendees.

The venue redevelopment includes a new Anglesea Stand with capacity for more than 6,700 spectators, hospitality suites and the refurbishment of The Grand Hall events space. The RDS said the upgrades are intended to strengthen the venue’s ability to host international sporting fixtures, exhibitions, conferences and live entertainment, while continuing to serve as home to Leinster Rugby.

Levy Ireland said it will introduce sustainability measures into catering operations, including removing air-freighted fruit and vegetables from menus, increasing sourcing from Irish suppliers and adopting a head to tail food strategy to reduce waste. These measures align with growing facilities management priorities around operational sustainability and responsible procurement across high-footfall venues.

Paul Kelly, chief executive officer of the Royal Dublin Society, said the partnership would help strengthen hospitality delivery across events ranging from exhibitions and conferences to sporting fixtures and concerts.

For facilities management teams, the agreement demonstrates growing integration between venue operations, hospitality services and visitor experience strategies within complex mixed-use environments.
