GC Maintenance and Engineering Company Limited (GCME), an engineering and facilities management operator within Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical group, has entered a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Peak Energy for a 500 kWp rooftop solar system at its Rayong facility.
Peak Energy, a Singapore-headquartered clean-energy platform with operations across Asia-Pacific, will design, finance, install, and operate the photovoltaic system under the arrangement.
The agreement supports GCME’s facility-level energy management plans through on-site renewable generation. Once operational, the installation is expected to produce about 730 MWh per year, avoiding roughly 350 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The PPA removes the need for upfront capital expenditure and locks in predictable energy pricing during solar hours, a consideration for industrial sites facing rising operational and maintenance demands.
GCME’s Rayong facility is one of its core engineering and maintenance centres. Integrating rooftop solar at this location aligns with the company’s wider asset strategy, which includes plant maintenance, safety engineering, and long-term operational reliability. The project is structured to operate alongside existing maintenance workflows, with no disruption to ongoing facilities management functions.
Peak Energy noted that Thailand’s competitive electricity market makes site-level PPAs increasingly relevant for industrial operators seeking cost stability. The company emphasised that the system has been planned to meet GCME’s requirements for safety, equipment reliability, and measurable performance outcomes. Peak Energy currently manages 300 MW of operating assets across Asia-Pacific and has 1 GW in development, with experience in utility-scale and on-site energy models.
GCME’s role within the PTT Global Chemical group includes technical oversight of assets, engineering support, and maintenance services for industrial environments.
Peak Energy, owned by infrastructure investor Stonepeak, will oversee the installation through its Thailand-based team, supported by local partners and standardised HSE protocols.
