FM Today and Tomorrow 2026 has announced its conference themes, setting out a four-session agenda that reflects where facilities management genuinely is right now: at the intersection of technology, evolving workplace expectations, sustainability demands, and an expanding leadership remit that is redefining what FM professionals are expected to contribute. Each session pairs a main-stage presentation with a panel discussion, designed to ground conversation in operational reality rather than aspiration.

The Opening Keynote, "The Strategic Rise of Facilities Management: From Operational Support to Organisational Influence," sets the tone by examining the forces that have driven FM's shift in organisational standing, from Covid and hybrid working to technology, ESG, and growing stakeholder demands. It frames the rest of the day's conversation around a central question: what does an expanding FM remit actually mean for the future of the profession?

Session 01, "Technology, AI and the Intelligent Workplace," explores how AI, data, and smart building technologies are transforming facilities management in practice. The session examines how organisations are using these tools to improve efficiency, optimise building performance, and support better decision-making, while addressing the skills and implementation challenges that digital transformation in FM brings with it.

Session 02, "Workplace Experience and the Future of Work," turns to the challenge facing FM teams as workplace expectations continue to evolve under hybrid working. With the purpose of the office itself under scrutiny, this session examines how FM is increasingly central to creating environments that support collaboration, wellbeing, and productivity, and what that means for how facilities services are designed and delivered.

Session 03, "Sustainability, Retrofit and Asset Performance," addresses the growing centrality of FM to organisational ESG delivery. With energy management, asset management, and building optimisation all increasingly linked to sustainability goals, this session explores how FM professionals are balancing environmental ambition with the practical realities of managing and improving existing building stock.

The Leadership Panel closing Session 04, "Leadership, Talent and Skills in an Age of Change," takes stock of what the expanding FM leadership role now demands, from workplace strategy and sustainability to technology and organisational resilience, and what skills today's and tomorrow's FM leaders need to succeed.
