Cambridge Maintenance Services has acquired facilities management provider Phosters in a deal that secures approximately 400 jobs and ensures the continuation of services across the company's customer base.
Insider Media states that the business and assets of Kidderminster-based Phosters have been sold as a going concern to Cambridge Maintenance Services, part of the Mesia Group of companies, following the appointment of joint administrators in June.
Phosters delivers integrated facilities management and outsourced support services to organisations across the UK and Europe. Its capabilities span operational, technical, commercial, environmental and strategic facilities management services across a wide range of sectors.
The acquisition enables the business to continue operating under new ownership while preserving its workforce and maintaining service delivery for existing clients.
Cambridge Maintenance Services expands its facilities management capability through the transaction, adding an established provider with a long history serving commercial organisations. Although Phosters has operated under its current structure for a relatively short period, the business traces its origins back to 1918.
The agreement highlights continued investment and consolidation within the facilities management sector as organisations strengthen operational capacity through strategic acquisitions. Transactions of this nature help preserve specialist expertise, maintain customer support and provide continuity across essential facilities management services.
By securing jobs and ensuring the ongoing delivery of integrated FM solutions, the acquisition reflects the sector's continued focus on building resilient service operations while supporting long-term growth and customer confidence.
